Court Appoints Kreindler Partner Noah Kushlefsky Special Counsel in World Trade Center Disaster Site Litigation
Attorney
Southern District Judge Alvin K. Hellerstein appointed Kreindler partner Noah H. Kushlefsky as Special Counsel to resolve a conflict of interest in the September 11th World Trade Center Disaster Site Litigation.
In an order, Judge Hellerstein concluded that the attorneys representing a group of 59 plaintiffs who had previously made claims to the Victim Compensation Fund had a conflict because the group had been removed from the eligible plaintiffs’ list for the 2010 settlement, a deal that calls for upwards of $700 million in payouts to those who responded after the terrorist attacks of September 11th and cleaned up the site.
