Façade Inspection & Safety Program (FISP)
The Façade Inspection Safety Program (FISP) - previously known as Local Law 11, is a New York City Department of Buildings (NYCDOB) program which states that building owners of structures with 6 or more stories retain a registered architect or professional engineer to inspect the exterior walls and appurtenances and file a report at least once every five years.
The façade of a building is the exterior side typically composed of materials like stone, brick, and concrete. Time, weather, and substandard building practices can cause deterioration of the materials that make up a building’s façade.
