Kreindler & Kreindler Get Compensation for Those Injured by Toxic Materials
June 16, 2023
Kreindler attorneys are closely monitoring the deaths of two American tourists at a Hyatt luxury property near Cabo San Lucas, Mexico. News reports suggest that the cause of death may be related to carbon monoxide poisoning. Reportedly, two first responders were also hospitalized after attending to the victims on the property.
Medical complications from mold, lead, asbestos, hazardous chemicals, pollution, and toxic waste are well known. When companies put the public at risk, legal action can be taken.
Kreindler attorneys have successfully litigated complex environmental injury claims, with justice for victims and consequences for offending companies.
The September 11th Victim Compensation Fund, Lower Manhattan
The 2001 collapse of the World Trade Towers produced a noxious fog of burning plastic, asbestos, fiberglass, and jet fuel. This foul, carcinogenic mixture was inhaled not just by 9/11 responders, but by up to half a million people who lived in, worked in, attended school in, or visited lower Manhattan in the 9 months following 9/11.
Kreindler Managing Partner Noah Kushlefsky and a team of 20 legal professionals are dedicated to working in this area - helping access financial compensation for cancer and respiratory illness victims who were in the Lower Manhattan exposure zone. To date, Noah and the team have collected over $3 billion for thousands of 9/11 first responders, residents, workers, volunteers, students, and visitors.

The BP Oil Spill: An Enormous Tragedy, With Compensation to Match
To date, it was the worst environmental disaster in American history. The oil and gas behemoth BP was responsible for a series of malfunctions aboard its Deepwater Horizon offshore oil rig in 2010 that resulted in leaking almost 5 million barrels of oil into the Gulf of Mexico.
And then as part of BP’s cleanup response, they used the largest application of the dispersant chemical Corexit in an off-label manner, creating an even more toxic environment than what was there following the oil spill. In the end, the total impact of the spill and BP’s response was horrendous to the environment, wildlife, people, and property values all along the Gulf coast.
Kreindler has the experience and resources to litigate toxic and environmental injury cases. Our attorneys guide the litigation and get the highest settlements possible for our clients. Our results speak for themselves.
Working with other renowned law firms, Kreindler sued BP on behalf of many of the disaster’s victims, with partner Anthony Tarricone as coordinator of the Plaintiff’s Steering Committee. The complex litigation included people who were sickened and businesses that lost significant revenue. The effort paid off as the largest environmental damage settlement in U.S. history: $20.8 billion.

Negligent Actions Can Have Long-Term Effects
The use of hazardous chemicals or the dumping of certain waste products can have a wide range of negative effects on people in that area. That impact may initially go undetected but may emerge years later as various types of cancer or other life-threatening medical conditions.
Whether you were working or spent time in a hazardous environment or lived near a hazardous dumping site, you are entitled to legal protection if your health has been put at risk from the toxic exposure. We can work with your doctor to understand the type of injuries you have experienced from the toxic exposure.
We consult environmental experts and medical specialists who are invaluable in helping us show a direct link between toxic exposure and serious medical conditions, such as mesothelioma, asbestosis, lung cancer, and leukemia that often appear gradually over time.
Kreindler incorporates evidence from similar claims to show a trend of medical-related complications stemming from the toxic exposure. We may be able to pursue a class-action lawsuit if everyone involved has been affected by the same type of toxic exposure in the same way. Our top priority is to help you secure a full financial recovery for any related medical expenses well into the future. You are also entitled to compensation for any lost wages and pain and suffering.
