Kreindler Aviation Attorneys Following Tragic Cessna P210 Crash in Atlanta, Georgia
October 12, 2021
What Happened
Four people were killed on Friday, October 8, 2021, when a fixed-wing single-engine Cessna P210N Centurion aircraft crashed soon after take-off from the DeKalb-Peachtree Airport in Atlanta, Georgia. The private plane was piloted by Atlanta businessman Jonathan Rosen, who died along with his teenage daughter, friend and longtime associate Lauren Kate Harrington, and a teenage friend of the Rosen family. According to the initial statements from the onsite NTSB investigator, the airplane had recently undergone an engine modification - converting from a Continental piston engine to a Rolls Royce turbine engine. The plane also was equipped with an additional fuel tank.

Preliminary Investigation
As with all civil aviation accidents in the United States, the crash is being investigated by the National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB). The NTSB will attempt to determine whether the cause of the crash was mechanical, human, or environmental. The information they will be looking at includes the aircraft’s maintenance records, the pilot’s medical records, radar and weather data, air traffic control communications, the accident scene, and the plane wreckage.
Kreindler Experience with Cessna Crashes
Kreindler lawyers have handled many cases involving Cessna aircraft. Included among our previous Cessna cases is the tragic crash of a Cessna Citation II 550 business jet in which an emergency medical transplant team including two surgeons, two perfusionists, and two pilots were killed while transporting organs and en route to a patient awaiting a lung transplant at the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor, MI.
Kreindler also filed suit on behalf of a New York family following the tragic crash of a Cessna R182 in New Fairfield, Connecticut which killed the pilot and his wife. The airplane lost all engine power and was determined to require an emergency landing before it crashed. The investigation revealed critical defects to the engine that the defendants had been aware of.
Kreindler prevailed against Cessna in a bird strike case following a Cessna 172S fatal crash in Texas.
Kreindler was successful in another Cessna case in which a pilot instructor crashed into a wooded area after experiencing a total loss of engine power.
