Kreindler attorneys David Cook and Marc Moller represented a 25-year-old pedestrian who suffered catastrophic spinal cord injuries following getting hit by a van in New York City. The driver of a Budget Rent A Car vehicle set off a chain reaction after running a red light and then slamming into a van which then careened into the crosswalk, and struck our client as he was crossing the street. The plaintiff’s spinal cord was dislocated at level T6, causing complete paraplegia from the chest down and other catastrophic injuries. Kreindler set a then record $20 million jury verdict, which was later upheld by the New York Court of Appeals, New York’s highest court.

$7.5M Fatal School Bus Accident Settlement

Noah spoke with media outlets about another New York school bus tragedy that took the life of an 8-year-old Brooklyn girl. He discussed two specific school bus design flaws:
They cannot be locked from the outside.
They don’t have a “park” gear.
In the article, he explains why school buses cannot be safely parked on the street and left unattended and had a simpler solution to the problem “chock the wheels and don’t park buses on the street.”
When parked, the bus can only be left in neutral, and the bus is only held in place by nothing more than a simple parking brake, which is easily disengaged.

And an $8.75 million jury verdict against Volvo for its failure to install a starter safety switch in its 1987 model 740 wagon, resulting in our client suffering a traumatic above-knee amputation of the left leg.
