Kreindler & Kreindler and its 70 year focus on plaintiffs’ transportation injury cases has earned the firm the National Law Journal and Law.com’s 2024 Transportation Law Firm of the Year award. Kreindler’s leadership in aviation accident law, along with maritime and boating incidents, train accidents and bus, subway and other forms of mass transportation tragedies have shaped the firm since its founding in 1950.

Kreindler and Aviation Accident Law
Kreindler’s aviation practice is led by attorneys who are also commercial-rated, veteran military pilots. The firm’s commitment to airplane and helicopter accidents can be traced back to 1952 when Lee S. Kreindler proved that a malfunctioning propeller on a National Airlines DC-6 caused a crash in which 35 people were killed. It was the first plaintiffs’ personal injury case of its kind, and the jury award at the time was the highest award ever as a result of an airplane crash.
Since launching plaintiffs’ aviation accident law as a practice, Kreindler attorneys have served as lead or co-lead counsel in almost every major commercial airline disaster case, including having represented thousand of victims and their families following the 9/11 terrorist attacks. The firm continues to hold the record for highest dollar recovery from a single crash, $2.7 billion following the terrorist downing of Pan Am flight 103 by Libya.
Boeing 737 Max 8 Litigation
Kreindler is leading the fight against Boeing on behalf of families who lost loved ones aboard Ethiopian Airlines flight 302, following the 2019 disaster that killed 157 people. Kreindler attorneys have been featured on most major news networks, including CNN, The New York Times, Reuters and Der Spiegel discussing safety issues that have plagued Boeing aircraft. The firm’s Boeing litigation work is also prominently featured in an Amazon Prime, Emmy-nominated documentary about the Boeing 737 MAX crashes.

Kreindler represents victims of maritime and boating tragedies involving cargo ships, pleasure boats, tugboats and cruise ships. The firm has led cases against the largest cruise companies in the world, including Carnival Cruise Line, Norwegian Cruise Line and Princess Cruises.
The Francis Scott Key Bridge Collapse
Kreindler is currently representing multiple families who lost loved ones in the recent Francis Scott Key Bridge collapse in Baltimore, one of the deadliest bridge collapses in U.S. history. Kreindler lawyers Dan Rose and Kevin Mahoney are working on the complicated wrongful death cases involving different aspects of international and maritime law. Kreindler, who has has likely represented more wrongful death clients involved in cross-border cases than any other law firm in the United States, has extensive experience navigating highly complex maritime laws and has handled maritime and boating cases throughout the world.

Metro-North Railroad Crash Litigation
Kreindler recently secured a jury trial win for victims of the Metro-North Railroad train crash in Valhalla, NY – the deadliest crash in Metro-North Railroad’s history. Metro-North is the second largest commuter railroad in the U.S., transporting passengers between New York City and its northern suburbs. After nearly 10 years of litigation, the jury returned a verdict in favor of the plaintiffs, assigning primary liability to Metro-North and finally paving the way for plaintiffs to obtain compensation.
Kreindler 9/11 VCF Practice
Kreindler has been advocating for victims of 9/11 since September 11, 2001. Kreindler Partner Noah Kushlefsky, who leads our September 11th Victim Compensation Fund (9/11 VCF) practice, is widely recognized as a leader in this highly specialized field. The firm has recovered over $4B for victims and their families as a result of the September 11th, 2001 terrorist attacks.
